When is an owner-occupation termination valid?
The landlord must need the flat for themselves, close family members or household members and must state this specifically (§ 573 para. 2 no. 2 BGB). The notice period must also be observed.
Can I object to an owner-occupation termination?
In a hardship case (§ 574 BGB, e.g. old age, illness, lack of alternative housing) you can object and demand continuation of the tenancy.
